Pick your piste! Up here in the mountains we have a host of slopes that are perfect for all the family. Slalom, off-piste and park – just strap on your skis and go! The winter season begins in november. Contact the tourist office for updates about snow conditions. There’s plenty to do in the summer too. Our sparkling rivers and mountain lakes are teeming with fish for the keen angler while hiking enthusiasts can step out along the magnificent Royal Trail of Kungsleden, through the Syterskalet mountain pass.

On December 17, 1974, in the Italian village of Madonna di Campiglio, Ingemar Stenmark won his first World Cup and began a career which would see him achieve legendary status amongst Swedish sporting heroes. Read more.

Anja Pärson

Since her first World Cup victory in Mammoth Mountain, USA, Anja Pärson remains Sweden’s most distinguished alpine skier. Her international breakthrough came in the 2000/01 season at the World Championships in St Anton, when she won a gold medal in the slalom and bronze in the giant slalom. She was also the highest placed Swede in the ladies World Cup rankings. Read more.

Kungsleden – The King´s Trail

The Kungsleden trail begins in Hemavan in the south and extends to Abisko in the north 450 kilometre. In between, there is an extremely diverse terrain that offers good hiking whether you are an experienced hiker or a beginner.
